TouchBase launches – it’s official and exciting

Dec 4, 2024 | 0 comments

Today is the day TouchBase is officially alive. After lots of back-and-forth, testing, simplification, and you name it, I am proud to announce that the versions for both iOS and Android are available for download.

This is an opportunity to look back at the origin story. I have been losing touch with people I care about all my life. Every time I reach out to someone I care about, I feel good. The other person feels good, and that makes me even happier. But despite knowing this, I don’t do it often enough. It made me wonder:

Why? And what can I do about it?

I took a deeper dive into the issue and found out two things:

  1. I’m not alone. There are many people feeling this way.
  2. It’s part of a much bigger problem in our world: loneliness.

Loneliness takes a toll on our mental and physical health. According to the American Psychiatric Association (APA), 30% of Americans report feeling lonely. U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy has emphasized the severity of the issue, stating that loneliness poses health risks comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

In our digital age, we have more ways than ever to connect, yet many of us feel more isolated. The rise of online distractions has made it easy to lose touch with those closest to us. I realized that the tools meant to keep us connected were, ironically, making genuine connection harder.

What is TouchBase?

TouchBase helps you stay in touch with loved ones. It empowers you to reach out, maintain, and deepen these connections, turning them into something truly meaningful. The inaugural consists of:

  • Gentle Reminders: TouchBase is an intuitive mobile application that sends you reminders to reach out to loved ones via text messages.
  • Personalized Suggestions: It suggests which messages to write, helping you get unstuck and overcome the feeling of hesitation and awkwardness.
  • Seamless Integration: It uses your favorite messaging apps, making the process easy and familiar.

Think of it as a personal trainer for your social well-being.

If you’ve ever felt the distance growing between you and the people who matter, I invite you to give TouchBase a try. Let’s make the world a little less lonely, one message at a time
